How do you celebrate a birthday for someone who is millions of years old? Well, apparently you have tons of kids come to make silly hats, get their faces painted, make a craft out of pipe cleaners, go on scavenger hunts, and get balloon animals. The dinosaur museum was having a little party to celebrate their opening (a.k.a Mr. Dinosaur's Birthday), so we decided to go check it out with some of our friends. It was pretty busy, but it was still lots of fun. The lobby was decked out with balloons and a giant balloon sculpture shaped like a dinosaur. There were a bunch of tables set up with various crafts for the kids to do. Lily really wanted to get a dinosaur painted on her face. She insisted that she wanted a green one and Owen wanted a blue one. I don't really know how she knows what color Owen wants. Maybe she has figured out how to decipher his babbling! After getting their little faces painted we went to the hat table. I fitted the hats for their heads and then carefully glued on all of the fun decorations. As soon as I put the hat on Owen for the picture he ripped it off his head and tore it to shreds. Apparently, he wasn't very impressed with my hat-making skills. Lily liked her hat, but she didn't want to wear it either. The kids all had a lot of fun going through the museum and doing all the stuff we normally do when we go. It was fun, but I
definitely prefer going when it isn't quite so crowded. That Mr. Dinosaur is one popular guy!
