It's always fun when Sheepy comes...

Our trip down to San Diego for Eric and Megan's wedding was a short one, but it was still a lot of fun. The best part was getting away from the frigid temperatures and snow to spend a few days at the beach. The kids both did a great job in the car. The DVD player was a huge help! Most of the time there was spent with the reception, the wedding, and just visiting with family.

This is the four of us at the San Diego temple after the wedding. Owen had to stay wrapped up in a blanket because it wasn't as warm as it looks and I forgot to put socks on him that morning!

Owen didn't quite have the same reaction to the water as Lily did. Lily didn't care that it was a little cold, she wanted to play in the waves anyway. Owen started crying as soon as his little piggies touched the water. So, he hung out on the beach with Daddy.

Owen discovered his fingers and they are always in his mouth now. He is not a big fan of his binkie. He prefers his pointer finger. At least it's not his thumb!

Lily is in love with the beach! She remembered it from our last trip and that is all she wanted to do while we were there.

And now to the story behind the strange title of this post. At the San Diego temple they had a nativity set up with some sheep, a donkey, Mary, Joseph, and baby Jesus. While we were our taking pictures my rebellious daughter climbed over the chain and wanted to touch the sheep. She started out touching them, then she started giving them kisses and sitting on their backs. She threw a little tantrum when we took her away to take a couple pictures. She was still crying after the pictures so Todd took her back over to see the sheep and the donkey.
Lily: "Touch sheep....kiss sheep..."
Todd: "No, we're just going to look at the sheep."
Lily: "Touch donkey...kiss donkey..."
Todd: "No, we're just going to look at the donkey too."
Lily: Starts crying again
Todd: "We can look at the sheep, wave to the sheep, blow kisses to the sheep, and sing songs to the sheep, but we can't touch them. What do you want to do?"
Lily: "Sing songs!!"
Todd made up a couple new Primary songs..."I'm so glad when donkey comes home" and "It's always fun when sheepy comes". Lily has been requesting these new songs every night since then.
