We gave Owen his first bowl of rice cereal today. Even though he is only four months old, he is more than ready for it. At 17 lbs, the little guy has quite the appetite. A couple weeks ago he grabbed Todd's spoon off the table and put it in his mouth with perfect technique. I think he has been secretly practicing.
Unfortunately, this wasn't exactly his first experience with solid food. Lily has already introduced him to tortilla chips,
Oreos, suckers, and popcorn.

Owen's very first bowl of rice cereal. Doesn't that stuff look delicious? On a
side note, that beautiful green bowl was Todd's when he was a kid.
Awww...it's kind of sentimental!!
Wait a second, what is this stuff? My first meal and you are giving me this bland crap. Where's the stuff Lily gave me? I want some of that!! I don't know about this....
Hmmmmm...interesting texture, what's that other flavor? Oh, wait it's just rice.
More?? Okay, if you insist.
Hey Mom! Have you tried this? It's delicious!
More! More! Dad you're not going fast enough!
Here, I'll help you with that!
Yummy! I can see why you guys get so excited about this food thing! Now, where are the Oreos?

ok in the bottom picture he is 100% todd. i can't even believe it. and he looks like a kid who would like his rice cereal...
I love the commentary you did for Owen you are so good at it! Connor was the same. More than ready for solids at 4 months and he was 16 lbs. He was 23 lbs at his 9 month appointment and i think he is around 25 now and will find out for sure at his 12 month. I cannot believe he is almost a year old time goes by way too fast! Did u talk to Nicole about getting together Tuesday or Wednesday? let me know!
he's so big and so squeezable!
way to eat, owen! i bet you made daddy proud.
