No more naps...

A couple of weeks ago, I let Lily skip her nap because I wanted to play with her. We snuggled on the couch and watched Oprah together. I thought it was hilarious because she actually was somewhat interested in what was on the TV. It was fun, but I intended it to be a one time thing. My problem is that now she won't take a nap at all because she always wants to play with me. I feel a little selfish because I really enjoy the one-on-one time that we have when Owen is sleeping. We have dance parties, make cookies, do yoga, and play Barbies. So, here is my question...at what age do you cut out the naps? She seems to be fine, but I wonder if she's really getting enough sleep. Today I tried to put her to sleep in my bed. I though a slight change of scenery might make the nap seem more appealing. No luck! So, we spent the time reading all of Lily's princess stories and taking silly pictures of ourselves. I'm a little bummed that I am losing my free time, but I wouldn't trade these afternoons I spend with this cute little lady for anything!

I just LOVE the pictures on your blog! You guys make the cutest family! Can't wait for Malia to grow up to enjoy the same precious moments :)

You are much more patient and kind than I would be. I require the nap. I'm glad you are enjoying the special time. I bet she loves it!

You are a great mom! Nap time is my time and that is just how it is. It sounds like you guys have a great time though. So if she doesn't take a nap does that mean you just get to put her to bed early and then have your time?

cute pics! i love them! I think my sisters all stopped taking naps when they were 3. If she is fine and not having meltdowns because of no nap or getting tired a lot earlier than bed time I would say she is ready to cut the nap. Did u get my message about Connor's birthday?

I have had to give carters naps up or he wont go to sleep until midnight! He still naps once in a while, but I would rather he didn't!

be glad you made it this far - my kids give up naps around age two. however, i don't so much mind it because i like playing with them. i think lily will definately benefit from the one on one.
