Apples to Apples...

My parents have an apple tree in their backyard and while we were visiting last night Grandpa recruited Lily and Owen to help pick apples. Grandpa's little helpers were more than willing to "help out", especially since it involved using a ladder. Lily could reach some of the apples on the lower branches and Grandpa helped her up the ladder to get a couple of the higher branches.

Lily caught on to the process pretty quickly. Pick the apple...carry it to the box. Not too tough!
Owen, on the other hand, had a bit of trouble. He would, pick the apple...take a couple bites of the apple...THEN put it in the box. Hey, someone has to make sure that those apples taste good!
After a little while, I realized that there were lots of apples in the box that had these suspicious little teeth marks in them. Even after taking out all of those apples, we still ended up with a giant box. And there is still plenty on the tree!
Since we have more apples than I know what to do with, I wanted to know what your favorite recipes are for apples. Pies, cobblers, applesauce, anything. I need some ideas!!
P.S. If you want any apples for yourself, let me know. My mommy and daddy would love to share!

At least it's healthy, right?

My vote is apple dumplings, but I don't necessarily have the recipe because I'm no baker.

Try apple cobbler. We love it! Elli is really into apples right now too and lost her first tooth biting into one yesterday! So cute! We would be happy to take some if you have extras!
