Today was the funeral for President Gordon B. Hinckley. He was an amazing man and will be missed by millions of people throughout the world. When I first learned of his death last Sunday, I was overcome with emotions. At first, I was sad. I know that he was 97 years old, but it still came as a surprise. Like many people, I felt like he was going to be here with us forever. He has been the prophet since I was fourteen years old. He has been a figure that I have looked up to through my most formidable years. One of my favorite memories of President Hinckley was the October 2000 Conference. One of my friends got us tickets on the third row of the Conference Center. I will never forget how I felt that day, sitting there less than twenty feet from the Prophet of the Lord. I am so grateful for the many messages that he has delivered to us throughout the years. I will always remember his wit and for his humor. After the initial sadness, I was so happy for him. His sweet wife, Marjorie, passed away a little while ago and I am so happy that the two of them are together again.
