Let it snow!

Last night we had our first real snow of the season. It's been a big adjustment. Over Thanksgiving weekend there were days when I didn't even feel like wearing a coat. Now the jet stream is bringing down this cold Canadian air and I can't imagine leaving the house without bundling up! Currently, it is 21 degrees, but the weather web site says it feels like 9 degrees. Despite the cold, we bundled Lily up and took her out in the backyard for her very first snow experience.

She seemed to really enjoy it. She walked around the yard holding on to Daddy's hands for a little while. Then she wanted to get down and play in the snow. She was very entertained by her brand new mittens. She was waving her purple hands around and laughing. The only reason the hat stayed put is because the gloves were several sizes too large and Lily couldn't manage to get a good grasp on it to pull it off.
Lily didn't even realize that it was so cold until her mitten slipped off and her hand went in the snow. She sat there studying it for a while and then started to cry. That's when we brought her inside and warmed her up!
